Ford Mustang

Perhaps one of Fords most iconic vehicles, the Mustang is an American classic. Introduced in the spring of 1964, it was Fords most successful model since the the Model A, and the vehicle defined a generation, an industry as well as a model style. The Mustang created the "pony car" category of vehicle: muscley sports coupes with long hoods and short back ends. It was the inception and popularization of the Ford Mustang, many historians believe, that really fueled the American auto industries competitive growth. The market saw a spurt in pony car production shortly following the 1964 release of the Ford Mustang, including the Chevy Camero, Plymouth Barracuda and the less popular AMC Javelin.

Conceived, designed and built in Michigan, the original Ford Mustang was introduced to the world at the New York Worlds Fair on April 17, 1964. Company lore has it that the name originated from Executive designer Pres Harris' love of the Mustang fighter plane of World War II. The Ford Mustang has had uninterrupted production in the United States for over four decades, the only American pony-car that can make such a claim.

Mustangs have long been synonymous with street racing. In fact, not one month after the cars unveiling in April of 1964, the Ford Mustang was raced at the Indy 500. The vehicle also garnered many awards including first and second place in the international Tour de France rally.

The 2010 Ford Mustang stays true to the American pony-car ideal. Upgraded suspension and a 4.6 liter V8 engine make for the racing car a nation has come to know and love, with the added protection of increased maneuverability. Utilizing a cold air induction system, the 2010 Ford Mustang generates 315 hp and 325 lb-feet of torque.

The 2010 Ford Mustang is available in four different trim levels and coupe or convertible styles. The trim styles are V6, V6 Premium, GT and GT Premium. The V8 engine in he GT and GT Premium trim levels make for a tighter, faster driving experience, as the car produces more power. Exterior style upgrades are available with the "Pony Package' while the 'Comfort' package allows for customization of the cars interior including but not limited to heated front seat, power passenger seat and auto dimming rear view mirror. Electronic modification of the cars operating system can be achieved by purchasing the upgraded Electronics package which includes automatic climate control and voice automated navigation system. Glass roof, auto start and xenon headlights are also available as upgrades.
